Abstract

POLYACRYLAMIDE electrophoresis of purified chick interferon at pH 8.9 by methods similar to that of Davis1 gave an average recovery of activity of about 30 per cent2,3. The recovery could be improved by omitting the spacer and sample gels. Electrophoresis at pH. 4.3 by a method similar to that of Reisfeld et al.4 invariably abolished all or nearly all interferon activity5.
