WHILE the crystalline composition of dental calculus in man is well elucidated, very little is known about such calculus in animals. We have had the opportunity of comparing the results of X-ray diffraction examinations of samples of dental calculus from sheep from Dundee, Scotland, and from Greenland. Powder diagrams were taken with copper Kα-radiation in cameras of the Guinier type.
