Abstract

ABS>The concentration of strontium-90 In rain falling over Great Britain rose sharply during the first half of 1959 despite the suspension of nuclear weapons testing from November 1955 until February 1960 Results are presented from measurements of the radiostrontium content of rain water sampled through 1959. and the concentration of various short-lived fission products present In surface air durIng the same period The results are dlscussed in relation to current theories on the transport of fission products In the atmosphere.
