THE Marchi method has been used extensively in this laboratory in the course of studies on degenerating nerve fibres in the central nervous system made during the past twelve years. The purpose of this communication is to report the invariable occurrence of black, Marchi-positive bodies in the globus pallidus in brains examined by this method. This is an incidental finding, unconnected with the nerve fibre degeneration under study. No previous report of it has been found in the literature.
