A METHOD for determining excess zinc in zinc oxide has been devised1. It is based on measurement of the hydrogen produced by the excess metal when the sample is dissolved in hydrochloric acid. It will detect 0.05 µgm. of excess zinc. This communication summarizes the results obtained by the method with oxide in various states.
