Fungicides and Phytotoxicity

Abstract

2 : 3-DICHLORONAPHTHAQUINONE (I) is known to be an effective fungicide. It has been shown to be of value as a seed dressing1; but its use on foliage and fruit is limited because of the possibility of phytotoxic effects2. In an attempt to learn more about the reasons for this damaging action, we have prepared and tested the following compounds for fungicidal efficiency and phytotoxicity.
