Abstract

THE use of sphere indentation hardness tests is by no means confined to metals, experiments having been reported on pitch and ‘Plasticine'1, plastics2,3, rubber4 and cheese5, and in some of these investigations the relationship between depth of indentation (Δ) and load has been studied.
