Abstract

Abstract : A new synthesis of 1,2-dicarbaclosododecaborane is described which involves the reaction of acetylene with B10H12L2 compounds in the solid state. This simplified laboratory procedure provides pure o-carborane in one step as a sublimate from the reaction mixture. (Author)
