La depresion es el problema psiquiatrico mas comun en el anciano1. Su presentacion es muchas veces atipica, por lo que se considera un reto ante el que se enfrenta todo medico que atiende a un paciente mayor. El exceso de incapacidad y mortalidad a los que se asocia precisan profundizar en su conocimiento
