Summary The effect of uranyl acetate in the culture media of three different micro-organisms, isolated from Allahabad soil, was studied. It was observed that within 25 μM to 50 μM concentration of uranyl acetate in the culture media there is an increase in nitrogen fixation and a decrease in carbon consumption.
