Skeletal diseases of sheep are probably no less common than those of other domestic animals. However, they have gained little attention in the veterinary literature, despite the fact that sheep are receiving increased attention as models for studying aspects of human skeletal disease. This paper comprises a review of skeletal diseases of sheep in addition to a brief discussion of the post-mortem examination of the skeleton. Comparison with skeletal diseases in other species, including humans, is included where appropriate.
