
AbstractIn this paper, we highlight one of the brightest concepts launched by L. Zadeh, namely, the extension principle. Due to this principle, every one-to-one correspondence and, more generally, every one-to-many correspondence can be extended to fuzzy sets, i.e. sets without precise boundaries.
