AbstractImplementation of decentralization in Indonesia is characterized by the high level of proliferation, especially in the underdeveloped region. In fact proliferation is not always followed by an increase in quality of life and economic improvement of the region. This paper aims to identify the regional pattern of proliferation in underdeveloped region, so it can be known whether the proliferation can effect on underdeveloped region or not. The method used in this study is a descriptive statistical analysis and spatial analysis. The analysis showed that proliferation in underdeveloped regions do not alleviate region from underdeveloped predicate, but instead it encourages to release a large number of poor people to the new autonomous region.
