Artrodesis subtalar artroscópica

Abstract

AbstractIntroductionWe want to evaluate the effectiveness of arthroscopic technique in subtalar arthrodesis and study the factors that can influence in articular fusion.Material and methodsWe studied 11 patients with a minimum follow up of 3 years. The origin of the arthrodesis was in 6 patients a previous calcaneus fracture, 2 cases of instability, 2 primary arthrosis and 1 talocalcaneal coalition.ResultsPatients with previous fracture were operated and in 3 cases we used 1 screw for fusion and in the other 3 used 2 screws. Patients operated with 1 screw did not achieve fusion and were operated again. All patients without previous fracture operated with 1 or 2 screws achieved fusion.DiscussionWe recommend using 2 screws for arthroscopic subtalar fusion in cases of previous calcaneus fracture.
