Abstract

ResumenIntroducciónEl paciente con insuficiencia cardiaca requiere un manejo multidisciplinario en Unidades de insuficiencia cardiaca, en las que el profesional de enfermería es un miembro activo, que debe estar presente en la atención intrahospitalaria, ambulatoria y en hospital de día.ObjetivoDescribir las funciones de la enfermera en el seguimiento de los pacientes con insuficiencia cardiaca para dar pautas que permitan mejorar y estandarizar su atención.MetodologíaRevisión narrativa de la literatura disponible.ConclusiónEl papel de la enfermera incluye la realización de actividades que garanticen el seguimiento y la atención oportuna, teniendo como metas reducir las rehospitalizaciones, favorecer la adherencia a los tratamientos farmacológicos y no farmacológicos y promover el autocuidado a través de una intervención educativa estructurada utilizando estrategias novedosas que garanticen no solo el conocimiento sino el cumplimiento de las recomendaciones.AbstractIntroductionThe heart failure patient requires multidisciplinary management in heart failure units, where nurses are active members, involved in inpatient, outpatient and day hospital care.ObjectiveTo describe the functions of the nurse in the follow up of heart failure patients in order to provide guidelines to improve and standardise their care.MethodologyNarrative review of available literature.ConclusionThe role of the nurse includes performing activities to ensure appropriate follow-up and care, with a view to reducing rehospitalisation, promote adherence to pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments and to encourage self-care through structured education using novel strategies to provide knowledge and to ensure compliance with recommendations.
