Abstract

Resume L’innovation pharmacologique en diabetologie est un veritable defi. La nouvelle famille des co-agonistes des recepteurs GIP/GLP-1 represente une avancee therapeutique importante pour ameliorer la prise en charge du diabete de type 2 (DT2). L’activation des deux recepteurs incretines peut avoir des effets metaboliques additifs en comparaison a ceux obtenus avec les agonistes des recepteurs du GLP-1 seuls, en particulier sur la glycemie et l’exces de poids. Les etudes pre-cliniques, tout comme les essais chez l’homme, ont montre une amelioration de la glycemie a jeun et post-prandiale, de l’HbA1c, du poids, et du cholesterol total avec ces molecules. Les essais cliniques recents dans la population DT2 ont confirme ces donnees suggerant que les co-agonistes des recepteurs GIP/GLP-1 sont une innovation therapeutique.
