Abstract

ResumenLa desviación vertical disociada (DVD) se asocia a endotropía congénita; también se ha descrito en otros tipos de estrabismo como los secundarios.ObjetivoEstablecer la frecuencia de DVD en pacientes con estrabismo secundario a mala visión.Material y métodoEstudio prospectivo que incluyó a pacientes con estrabismo secundario a mala visión y como grupo control a pacientes con estrabismo y ambliopía estrábica profunda.ResultadosSe incluyeron 57 pacientes, el 77% fueron mujeres. La edad, con un promedio de 17.7 años.Grupo de estudio: 24 pacientes; 19 con exotropía (79%), 5 con DVD (21%). Las causas más frecuentes de la mala visión fueron: catarata congénita, secuelas de trauma y alteraciones del nervio óptico.Grupo control: 33 pacientes; 23 pacientes con endotropía (70%), 30 pacientes con DVD (91%).AbstractDissociated vertical deviation (DVD) is associated with congenital esotropia has also been described in other types of strabismus secondary.ObjectiveTo establish the frequency of DVD in patients with strabismus secondary to poor vision.Material and methodThis prospective study included patients with strabismus secondary to poor vision and control group patients with strabismus and strabismic amblyopia depth.Results57 patients, 77% women. The average age of 17.7 years.Study group: 24 patients; 19 with exotropia (79%), 5 with DVD (21%). The most common causes of poor vision were congenital cataract, sequelae of trauma and disorders of the optic nerve.Control group: 33 patients; 23 patients with esotropia (70%), 30 patients with DVD (91%).
