Unusual variants of DCIS and DCIS mimickers are presented in this article. Examples of DCIS with a high propensity for underdiagnosis or misclassification, pertinent immunoperoxidase workups, the results of prognostic/predictive markers, and relevant clinical follow-up are also provided in certain cases. The currently controversial entities are also discussed.
