Abstract

Introduction La chirurgie bariatrique est indiquee en cas d’obesite morbide, elle constitue, a l’heure actuelle, la seule technique qui permet une perte ponderale stable dans le temps de plus de 50 % de l’exces ponderal. L’objectif de notre etude est d’evaluer les connaissances de cette technique chirurgicale chez une population des patients obeses. Materiels et methodes Etude prospective transversale a visee descriptive, des patients obeses consultants pour obesite a l’hopital du jour au service d’endocrinologie du CHU Mohammed VI, a travers un questionnaire preetabli, de septembre 2016 au mois de fevrier 2017. Resultats Nous avons recense 42 patients, l’âge moyen etait de 42,19 ans, le sex-ratio M/F = 0,35, avec une predominance feminine, l’obesite etait morbide chez 33,33 %. Trente-huit pour cent des patients sont diabetiques et 26,19 % sont hypertendus, 23,8 % sont analphabetes et 9,5 % ont un niveau universitaire, la source principale d’information etait l’Internet 35,71 %, l’objectif de cette chirurgie est de perdre l’exces ponderal 33,33 % et d’eviter les complications de l’obesite 35,71 %, 38 % des patients estiment que la chirurgie bariatrique n’a pas des risques d’echec, 30,95 % n’exigent pas de changement des habitudes alimentaires et l’hygiene de vie apres la chirurgie bariatrique et que 14,2 % estime que le suivi postoperatoire est facultatif. Discussion Il existe une connaissance sous-optimale des differentes modalites de gestion et de suivi de la chirurgie bariatrique qui pourrait etre du au manque d’informations sur ce type de la chirurgie dans le programme sanitaire et universitaire. Il faut ameliorer le niveau de connaissance des patients qui sont acteurs dans leur maladie chronique.
