Infartos cerebrales como manifestación de hiperhomocistinemia: reporte de caso

Abstract

Resumen El infarto cerebral agudo, como manifestacion de las enfermedades sistemicas, es una afeccion comun que se presenta en un grupo etario por encima de los 65 anos. La aparicion de esta dolencia en pacientes jovenes hace pensar en otras posibles enfermedades o manifestaciones de afecciones cronicas que no se han diagnosticado. Un ejemplo de estos casos es el de los estados hipercoagulables, donde en gran parte de los escenarios se tienen en cuenta los mas prevalentes y se tienden a pasar por alto otras causas, como es la hiperhomocistinemia. Es por esta razon que a continuacion se describe un caso de accidente cerebrovascular como manifestacion de hiperhomocistinemia en una mujer joven sin otros factores de riesgo.
