Abstract The architecture of automotive systems is currently changing from a number of local, more or less isolated electronics to a functionally integrated distributed system which is linked by a network. This disengagement from local implementations is the platform for innovative control approaches in vehicles. It is supported by enhancements in microcontroller capabilities, due to the introduction of operating systems, co-processing, more efficient development process and by the application of artificial intelligence into automotive systems.

citations This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 3
popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average
influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average
impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
