
Neurosurgery is undoubtedly a high-risk surgical discipline, but shares with other branches of medicine a number of common medicolegal problems. It also has a number of problems peculiar to itself. This chapter will deal with malpractice in its broadest sense and outline those areas where medicolegal problems may develop in neurosurgical practice and suggest strategies for their avoidance.
