T HE American Cancer Society estimates 73,400 new cases of cancer of the female genital tract in 1986.’ Endometrial cancers comprise about 13% of all malignant tumors in women: uterine cervix, 6%; ovarian tumors, 6%: and other gynecologic malignancies, 2% to 3%.* This paper will discuss the major treatment modalities (surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy) for gynecologic malignancies involving the endometrium, cervix, ovary/fallopian tube, vulva, and vagina.
