Abstract Denture adhesives have been used by denture wearers for many years. A number of studies have been conducted to assess the effectiveness of these adhesives. This article describes a technique whereby the effectiveness of the adhesives was determined with the dentures in function through the use of the kinesiograph. The results indicated that denture adhesives improved the retention and stability of dentures, more so for ill-fitting than well-fitting dentures.
