Luminescence of Eu2+-activated materials with host lattice M4OX6 (MSr, Ba; XCl, Br)

Abstract

Abstract The lumninescence properties of Ba3.96Eu0.04OCl6,Ba3.96Eu0.04OBr6 and Sr3.96Eu0.04OBr6 are discussed. All three materials show an efficient blue emission under UV and X-ray excitation. These materials are also thermally and optically stimulable after X-ray irradiation.
