Abstract This paper describes a set of requirements for total management of engineering design data. These requirements are essential to the successful implementation of computer based engineering data management system and exceed the capabilities provided by the commercially available data base management systems (DBMS). These requirements were derived from a study of the aerospace design process by experienced aerospace design engineers. They form part of the basis for development of the Integrated Programs for Aerospace-Vehicle Design (IPAD) system which is currently being produced by Boeing under a NASA contract. The requirements are described as engineering needs and how they appear in the engineering design process. Also given is a brief explanation of why existing DBMS systems do not meet these needs.
Optimal statistical designs, Design, Integrated Programs, Software, source code, etc. for problems pertaining to fluid mechanics, Aerospace- Vehicle Design, Jets and cavities, cavitation, free-streamline theory, water-entry problems, airfoil and hydrofoil theory, sloshing, General aerodynamics and subsonic flows, Aerospace Engineering Data

citations This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 4
popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average
influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10%
impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
