Abstract The great amount of data on palynology of the Mesozoic of Western Siberia has become a basis for the detailed stratigraphic distribution and correlation of petroliferous sediments. On the basis of palynological study using the data on all kinds of microphytofossils (spores, pollen, microphytoplankton) it has become possible to define more accurately the shore-line position and facies boundaries during the Late Jurassic. The possibility of using palynological data for determining the source of transfer of terrigenous material, and also for paleobiogeographic studies is shown in the present paper.
