Abstract Gingival bleeding can be induced by many pathologic conditions, such as acute gingivitis, periodontitis, trauma, allergy, metabolic alterations such as vitamin C deficiency, neoplasms, and severe blood dyscrasis, to mention a few. The case presented here illustrates a drug-induced thrombocytopenia accompanied by gingival bleeding. Quinidine is the drug which produced this condition via an antibody-mediated destruction of the platelets.
