Abstract 1. 1. Dental follicles were removed from impacted or embedded teeth of human beings varying in age from 8 to 50 years. 2. 2. Portions of these dental follicles were transplanted to the anterior chamber of guinea pigs' eyes. 3. 3. Growth of the transplant was observed within the anterior chamber of the eyes in 70 per cent of the cases. 4. 4. Microscopic analysis of the transplanted tissue revealed growth of bone, collagen, and cementum-like structures. 5. 5. In six cases there was no evidence of survival or growth of the transplant. 6. 6. The epithelial elements of the transplanted tissue did not survive, proliferate, or differentiate in any of the cases.
