Compounds MSbOSiO4 (M=Na,K) show an intense greenish luminescence at 4.2 K under short wavelength ultraviolet excitation. Thermal quenching is complete at 300 K. This emission is another example of luminescence of d10 ions in oxides. The germanate analogues and members of solid solutions between these antimony compounds and KTiOP(As)O4 also show luminescence. This emission can be interpreted by applying models proposed before.
