Abstract Gel monoliths were prepared in the system TEOSH 2 OCH 3 CN by pyridine-methyl ether treatments. By this treatment, a drying rate of 0.7 g/h was achieved which is five times faster than for the non-treated gels (0.13 g/h), while maintaining their monolithicity.
