Abstract A new Sephadex sandwich disc electrophoresis method has been devised for effective resolution of complex macromolecules on the basis of their charge and molecular dimensions. As evidenced by separation of mitochondrial and serum lipoproteins from contaminating proteins, superior resolution of these macromolecules is obtained with this system, as compared to acrylamide disc electrophoresis or Sephadex gel chromatography.
