Abstract

Die vorliegende Arbeit will einen konzeptuellen Beitrag zum Konstrukt der Alltagskompetenz leisten. Nach der einleitenden Erorterung von Grunden fur die verstarkte Beachtung von Alltagskompetenz in der Gerontologie werden in einem ersten Teil sechs Forschungsstromungen mit Relevanz fur Alltagskompetenz skizziert: 1. alltagsnahe kognitive Alternsforschung, 2. ADL/IADL-Forschung, 3. Freizeitforschung, 4. Bewaltigungsforschung und 6. okologisch-gerontologische Forschung. In einem zweiten Teil werden zwei einflusreiche Modelle von Alltagskompetenz, jene von Margret Baltes und Sherry Willis, dargestellt und diskutiert. In einem dritten Teil wird eine integrative Konzeption von Alltagskompetenz vorgestellt, welche Aspekte der sechs Forschungsstromungen mit wesentlichen Elementen der beiden Alltagskompetenzmodelle verzahnt.
