Application of a novel de-watering process to control kiln brown stain in radiata pine

Abstract

mehreren Trocknungszyklen mit Pressluft zwischen 10 und 100 bar unterworfen. Danach wurde die Abnahme der Feuchte, der Feuchtegradient entlang der Proben und das Ausmas der Verfarbung durch Braunverfarbung bestimmt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, das die Anwendung der Druckzyklen bis 100 bar zu einer gleichformigen Feuchteverteilung fuhrt mit Mittelwerten um 40%. Die Braunverfarbung war vollstandig verhindert. Demgegenuber zeigten alle Proben, die mit niedrigen Drucken behandelt waren, starke Verfarbungen, denn der Feuchtegehalt blieb zu hoch, um einen Massenflus zu verhindern. Dies zeigt, das ein Massenflus von Vorstufen der Braunverfarbungen wesentlich ist fur die Entwicklung der Verfarbungen wahrend des Trocknens von Kiefern-Splintholz. Moglichkeiten fur praktische Anwendungen dieser Untersuchungen werden diskutiert.
