Doprinos srednjevjekovne medicine u Dubrovačkoj Republici medicinskoj tradiciji bogat je i značajan. Vodeći medicinski umovi prošlih vjekova bili su Aloysius Georgirius, Gjuro Baglivi, Tomo Budislavić, Marko Antun de Domini, Georgius Ragusalus, Ivan Matijašević i Marko Flori.Prema povijesnim, medicinskim, kulturnim, ekonomskim i znanstvenim zapisima osobito je u 15. i 16. stoiljeću cvjetala medicinska znanost. Mnogi zapisi iz toga razdoblja upućuju na urološke poteškoće bolesnika koji su od posebna značenja za povijest urološke znanosti.
