Abstract

At its 1986 apparition, Halley’s Comet became by far the most studied comet in history with five space probes encountering it and a multitude of ground based telescopes observations carried out by both amature and professional astronomers. In this overview we will discuss only the part of the data set that is of most interest ot infrared astromers, namely the nucleus and the dust. The molecular emission has been dealt with in another chapter.
