Recently magnetic semiconductors are found to exhibit optical histability. We, in this paper tried and succeded in giving a theoretical model for optical bistability in a magnetic semiconductor. Using this model it is found that the decrease of magnetic impurity concentration or interaction potential favours this bistability phenomenon. Finally this model is tested for diluted magnetic semiconductors.
