Abstract

Die Nutzung von Geodatenbanksystemen zur Speicherung und Abfrage von geocodierten Inhalten dient dem Ziel, Offenheit und Interoperabilitat zwischen Anwendungen zu schaffen. Geodatenbanksysteme besitzen geeignete Datentypen zur Speicherung der Geometrien und stellen hinreichend machtige geometrische und topologische Operationen bereit, die zur Formulierung von Anfragen verwendet werden konnen. Das entsprechende Klassenmodell sollte gangigen Standards folgen. Zudem sind interne Mechanismen zur effizienten Bearbeitung von raumlichen Anfragen erforderlich. So konnen dann auf Basis von kommerziellen und Open-Source-Geodatenbanksystemen vielfaltige Anwendungen fur das Geoweb realisiert werden.
