Los modelos de decisiones en la evaluación económica de tecnologías sanitarias: Calidad y buenas prácticas metodológicas

Abstract

Los modelos de decisiones son ampliamente utilizados en la evaluacion economica de tecnologias sanitarias para determinar la intervencion mas coste-efectiva entre varias alternativas mutuamente excluyentes. El objetivo de este articulo es analizar los problemas conceptuales de valorar la calidad de los modelos de decisiones y sugerir una serie de criterios o recomendaciones para desarrollar este tipo de modelos y para validar los mismos. El articulo define los distintos tipos de modelos de decisiones y sus utilidades potenciales, asi como sus limitaciones; establece una serie de buenas practicas metodologicas obtenidas despues de revisar la literatura existente sobre el tema; y determina una serie de caracteristicas indispensables minimas que deben tener todos los modelos. El tema de la calidad se reduce a la valoracion de la transparencia del modelo, a la justificacion coherente y razonada de la metodologia utilizada, y a la posible reproducibilidad del modelo por parte de otros investigadores.
