Der neue 1,8-I-Ottomotor mit Vierventiltechnik erweitert die mittlere Motorenfamilie von Opel nach oben. Im Vergleich zum Vorgangermotor wurde der Zylinderabstand von 93 mm auf 86 mm reduziert. Uber Abgas- und Gerauschemissionen, Leichtbau, Modultechnik und Zukunfspotential des neuen Aggregats sprach die MTZ-Redaktion mit Dipl.-Ing. Eckhard Zickwolff von der Adam Opel AG.
