Despite numerous advantages, welding simulations are seldom used to solve manufacturing problems in the automotive industry. For that reason, the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) of the Technical University of Munich is researching different simulation methods in order to overcome existing obstacles that prevent their use and to develop industrial applications.
