Cardiovasculaire problemen in het verpleeghuis

Abstract

Al vele jaren wordt er veel aandacht besteed aan cardiovasculair risicomanagement. Momenteel wordt de huidige richtlijn weer geupdatet en de nieuwe versie zal in 2011 verschijnen. Helaas blijkt ook weer tijdens het samenstellen van de adviezen, dat er weinig tot geen onderzoek is verricht bij de populatie ouderen met complexe comorbiditeit. Dit was de reden om onderstaande vragen voor te leggen aan professor Ivo Smulders (internist, VUmc te Amsterdam), professor Jacobijn Gussekloo en Wouter de Ruijter (huisartsen, LUMC te Leiden), Paul Jansen (klinisch geriater en farmacoloog, Utrechts MC en Empor) en Henk de Jonge (specialist ouderengeneeskunde, Zorgaccent te Amersfoort). Ik hoop dat hun antwoorden behulpzaam zijn bij het zoeken van een verantwoorde behandeling van onze clienten. Mogelijk kan het ook aanleiding zijn om door middel van FTO’s het formularium aan te passen.
