Zur schwimmfähigkeit von belemniten

Abstract

Es wurde der Einflus von Rostrum und Phragmokon auf die Schwimmfahigkeit von Belemniten untersucht. Zunachst werden generelle Uberlegungen zur gunstigsten Schwerpunktslage ohne Berucksichtigung der tatsachlichen Gegebenheiten fur die Ruhelage, die Bewegung nach vorn sowie das Schwimmen nach hinten angestellt. Dann werden Ergebnisse von Berechnungen an einem Belemnitenmodell mitgeteilt. Durch Ausscheiden unvorteilhafter Konfigurationen ergibt sich, das das Zusammenfallen von Schwerpunkt und Auftriebsmittelpunkt zu den gunstigsten Schwimmverhaltnissen fuhrt. Diese Konfiguration ermaeglicht eine vertikale Ruhelage, problemfreies langsames Schwimmen und die schnelle Bewegung nach hinten auf einer wellenfaermigen Bahn, bei der sich Antriebsphasen und Verzaegerungsphasen auf einer ballistischen Bahn abwechseln.
