1. From 1930–1936, 539 cases of intra-oral cancer have been examined. In most of these the disease was very advanced. 2. The cases are analysed from the point of view of topography, age, sex, duration of symptoms and incidence of enlarged glands. 3. Radiation is the method of choice in the treatment of the oral growth. 4. Treatment of the glandular field is primarily a surgical problem and is not fully considered. 5. The five-year absolute, crude and nett survival rates for 178 cases are given. 6. The results of treatment by radiation and surgery are compared.
