Cytomorphological studies ofsaccharum hybrids in relation to yield and quality characters

Abstract

Studies on cytomorphological, yield and quality characters of 30 clones belonging to an intergeneric hybrid ofSaccharum, Co 7201 x (28 NG 210 xErianthus), have revealed the existence of significant correlation between the chromosome number and the expression of the characters. In the population a wide range of variability was obtained with chromosome number ranging from 2n = 82–120.
