One hundred and thirty three consecutive cases of colorectal cancer were reviewed. The majority of patients lived in rural areas. Two thirds of the patients presented with advanced cancer. One third had liver involvement at presentation. Most of the cancers occurred in the older age groups. The cancer was located in the rectum or sigmoid colon in three quarters of the patients. Diagnosis in the asymptomatic population is still a very uncommon occurrence.
