A REVIEW of 664 cases of duodenal disease seen over the past few years is presented. The lesions are divided into peptic and non-peptic. In the demonstration of duodenal ulcers the value of the supine oblique air contrast view is stressed. The non-peptic lesions are divided by cause into intrinsic and extrinsic. The extrinsic lesions are listed but not considered further. The rare intrinsic non-peptic lesions, Crohn’s disease, carcinoma, Hodgkin’s disease, Henoch-Schonlein purpura, scleroderma and eosinophilic gastroenteritis are then considered in more detail.
