Abstract

In der Region Trier wurden im Rahmen eines Biomonitorings von Mai bis Oktober 1994 an funf Stationen Tabakpflanzen der Variante Bel W3 exponiert, die sich als Reaktionsindikator fur Photooxidantien wie Ozon eignen. Zwischen Ozonimmissionen und Blattschaden lies sich keine einfache lineare Dosis-Wirkungs-Beziehung ableiten. Nur aus der Kombination von Depositionsraten von Ozon uber den Pflanzenoberflachen, dem Gaswechsel und den biologischen Aktivitaten der Pflanzen konnte die absorbierbare „effektive Dosis” abgeleitet werden, die zur Ausbildung von Blattnekrosen fuhrt. Trotzdem konnten qualitative Unterschiede in den Ozonimmissionen in der Region charakterisiert werden. Die grosten Blattschaden traten in Zeitraumen mit groser Einstrahlungsaktivitat an den hoher gelegenen Stationen auf. Ozonschaden an den Blattern konnen aber zum Teil durch mikroklimatische Unterschiede mitverursacht sein, so das der Einsatz solcher Verfahren im Gelande stark eingeschrankt ist. Pigmentgehalte und-muster noch nicht nekrotischer Blatter konnen nicht zur Fruhindikation von Ozonschaden an Tabakpflanzen benutzt werden.
