Abstract

Il microambiente perineuronale dei gangli spinali di ratto e di cavia contiene laminina e fibronectina, due glicoproteine che sono in grado di favorire l’accrescimento degli assoni dei neuroni dei gangli sensitivi. Le presenti ricerche dimostrano che laminina e fibronectina sono presenti anche nel microambiente perineuronale dei gangli spinali di coniglio e che sono localizzate non soltanto a livello delle cellule satelliti, ma anche in corrispondenza delle interruzioni dell’involucro formato da tali cellule; in quest’ultima sede tali glicoproteine si trovano a contatto diretto con la superficie del corpo dei neuroni sensitivi. Poiche le propaggini che emergono dal corpo dei neuroni dei gangli spinali sono numerose nelle porzioni di superficie del corpo del neurone che si trovano in rapporto con le cellule satelliti, mentre sono assenti nelle porzioni di superficie che sono a diretto contatto con la matrice extracellulare, i risultati della presente ricerca fanno ritenere che laminina e fibronectina non esercitino nessuna influenza diretta sullo sviluppo delle suddette propaggini. Tali risultati suggeriscono anche che l’accrescimento degli assoni e quello delle propaggini che emergono dal corpo dei neuroni dei gangli spinali siano controllati da meccanismi differenti.
