Estudio asintotico de una clase de indices de desigualdad muestrales

Abstract

En la literatura sobre la cuantificacion de la Desigualdad de una poblacion en relacion con cierta variable economica (renta, capital, etc.) se han establecido diferentes medidas, entre las cuales por su operatividad y caracterizacion axiomatica merecen mencion especial los llamados "indices de desigualdad aditivamente descomponibles" (que incluyen los conocidos indices de Theil y de la varianza normalizada). En este trabajo desarrollamos un estudio del comportamiento asintotico de dichos indices cuando se aplican sobre muestras extraidas de la poblacion segun un muestreo aleatorio por estratos. Sobre la base de este estudio se comprueba que cuando se dispone de muestras grandes en cada estrato, la consideracion de estos entrana ganancia de precision en la estimacion de los correspondientes indices poblacionales. Sugerimos finalmente algunas aplicaciones inmediatas, tales como la seleccion del Tamano de Muestra adecuado para llevar a cabo la estimacion con un grado de precision prefijado y la construccion de Intervalos de Confianza y Contrastes de Hipotesis para los distintos indices de desigualdad poblacionales
